Evolution

Was man created? No! Did man evolve? Nobody knows, though that is the hypothesis being promoted in academia and the political world, and accepted as received truth by every pseudo-science, such as environmentalism, psychology, and sociology.

In the grand scheme of things it does not matter how the existence we now live in became that existence, or even if it became what it is rather than always being what it is. The existence we live in is what it is, and it is that existence we must know and understand if we are going to live in it successfully and happily.

Both cosmology and evolution are concerned with the question of how existence, the reality of which we are presently a part, came to be. Ignoring the fact that such a question simply assumes reality had to “become” what it is rather than simply always being what it is, the only evidence there is for any hypothesis about origins is what exists and is true now.

All hypotheses about the “origins” of things are always extrapolations from what actually exists now, such as artifacts, fossils, and other paleontological evidence. They are, in fact, guesses, perhaps very good ones, but they are based on clues which are very old and very cold; and guesses is all they are.

For a discipline to be a science it must have the following characteristics: 1. evidence must be current and observable by anyone; 2. plausible conclusions drawn from the evidence must be disprovable, 3. plausible conclusions about the nature of the evidence must be verified by experiments that can be repeated by anyone (predictability); 4. a plausible conclusion that contradicts what is already known to be scientifically correct is invalid; 5. any exceptions in experimental results invalidates the plausible conclusion.

A “plausible conclusion,” is a hypothesis. To say a hypothesis must be disprovable (falsifiable) only means a hypothesis must be able to be disproved if it is false. A hypothesis that cannot be proved false is invalid because there is no way to test it. “The disease is caused by undetectable supernatural beings,” is invalid because the supernatural beings cannot be proved to not exist.

Evolution, like psychology and sociology, which are all called sciences, cannot meet any of the criteria for real science. Surveys, testimony, and statistics are not scientific methods.

The Danger of Evolution

I do not understand the almost hysterical need some people have to “know” how the universe, or life, or humanity, “got here,” because knowing it will not make one bit of difference. The universe is here, the world is here, it is full of life, and we are here to enjoy it, no matter how any of it got here. Furthermore, everything that is has the exact nature it has and is right here to be examined, studied, and discovered. It actually seems silly to attempt to discover anything about the nature of what is by some pretend study of how it got here when it is here right now to be studied. If we cannot discover all there is about the nature of what is by studying what is, no guesses about how it got are going to explain it.

For those who just cannot bear to admit they don’t know how everything came to be, if it came to be, it doesn’t matter much what they believe the explanation is, evolution, creation, or some other, “Just So Story.” What does matter is why they believe the story they do, and to what extent they allow that belief to influence their thinking and choices. Those who believe the creation story have already surrendered their minds to superstition. Those who believe in evolution with little more than the assumption, “since creation is incredible, evolution must be so as the only plausible alternative,“probably do themselves little harm.

Unfortunately evolution is being used today to promote every form pseudo-science and political agenda from ecology to psychology and from global warming to one world government. The danger of evolution is that it is put over as a science, in the name of which the gullible can be led to believe almost anything.
