The Wisdom of Tathagatagarbha
This article and the next, “Notes On Tathagatagarbhaianism”, present ethical principles in the form of a metaphor or an allegory. Some of the statements of Tath are anti-religious, but the intention is not against religion as such, but only to present the truth. I have no interest in fighting against anyone else’s beliefs. My only interest is in presenting the truth to those who are truly interested in it.
About Gods
I’ve been accused, more than once, of being an atheist. I’m not an atheist. I just don’t believe in your God.
There are lots of gods, and over time there have been literally thousands of them. Most of them lose their popularity over time, and new ones pop up every few centuries to take the place of the old ones. Some have more-or-less remained for thousands of years, but even they change over time, like the Hebrew God, Jehovah, growing two additional “Godheads”called Christ and The Holy Spirit to become the Christian tripartite, or as they prefer, “triune,” God. You don’t need to understand that; the Christians say so themselves. “No one can understand the Trinity,” they say, but you must believe it. How do you believe what you don’t understand? In such cases, exactly what is it one believes since it is only a word for which there is no understandable definition.
If I say, “You must believe in Ah Puch,” you might ask “What’s an Ah Puch?”
Suppose my explanation is this: “Ah Puch is beyond the understanding of any human being and no description of Ah Puch is possible in human terms, but you must believe in him else you live a life without meaning and will suffer eternally.”
You will rightly dismiss my explanation with contempt. As absurd as it is, however, my explanation is no more absurd than any other religion’s explanation of what they expect one to believe without understanding.
There really was a god Ah Puch, by the way. I didn’t make it up. I know it sounds like a dog, but He, or perhaps She, was a real god, at least as real as any of the others. Ah Puch was also called Yum Kimil, which sounds like a Jewish Passover treat, but is actually the Mayan name for the God ruling the ninth and lowest of the underworlds who is responsible for disaster and darkness. Perhaps politicians and college professors are really disciples of Ah Puch.
My God
My God is the true God. All the others are like fictional characters in a novel, but they don’t populate novels, they populate religions. The true God has no use for religion.
I do not call my God, “God.” The name of my God is Tathagatagarbha, or Tath, for short, because my God is all there is. Tathagatagarbha is a Sanskrit word for the Buddhist concept identifying the eternal and absolute essence of all reality. I use the word because the idea is right, though Buddhists themselves have no idea what it implies.
A Buddhist would argue the absolute reality is dharma, (another sanskrit word), in which case Tathagatagarbha would be the personification of dharma. But it is silly to argue about metaphors.
If Tath were like the made-up gods and spoke to men in visions and dreams, He would say, “if anyone tells you he has a direct line to me, he’s a liar. No one speaks for me. Everyone must find me himself, and I only speak to those who seek to find me.”
That, of course, excludes all the religions. All the religions claim to speak for God. They all claim to have the inside track to God, and only they can reveal Him. Tath calls them all liars.
Tath says, “Tell them anyone can see and hear God if they choose to. Tell them they can know the truth if they have ears to hear and eyes to see.”
“I can’t say that,” I said.
“Why not?” Tath asked.
“Because that’s what Jesus said.”
“Who’s Jesus?” Tath asked.
“Jesus. The God of the Christians, or part of their God, anyway. A third, I think,” I tried to explain.
“Oh Him. So he said something true. Big deal. The most dishonest person in the world says some things that are true, else, when he’s sick, what does he tell the doctor? Does he lie? Does he say, ‘my leg hurts,’ when he really has a headache?”
“That’s the thing about all these religions,” Tath said. “They all say some things that are true; that’s how they get put over. If you don’t mix some truth in with the lie, no one will swallow it. Ask me sometime about the true things in that book, you know, the Christian one, the Bubble or Bibble, or whatever they call it. There are a lot of true things in there, but the believers ignore them. ‘He that does not work, neither should he eat.’ That’s in there and it’s true, but nobody likes it.”
“They don’t want to know the truth. They don’t want to use the minds I have given them, they want someone else to provide easy answers for them. They never want to work. They could know me if they would really work to know the truth, but that’s not what they really want.”
The Truth of Tath
That’s the other name for Tath, by the way: “Truth.” They are not exactly interchangeable. You can’t say, like the Christians do of their God, “Tath is Truth,” because nothing is the truth. Truth is about things, but is not a thing itself.
Truth is a quality. It is the quality of every statement that is a correct description of any aspect of reality. Every true statement is therefore a description of some aspect of Tath, because Tath is all that really exists, as it really exists.
Someone asked me, “Aren’t you claiming to speak for Tathagatagarbha? Don’t you claim He is the true God? Don’t you claim to have a direct line to Him?”
No, I do not speak for anyone else, but I do have a direct line to Tath, a private line that only receives messages that pertain to me. Tath never told me what he said to me was for anyone else. I’m not sure anyone else would even be interested.
Let me explain something. I hear Tath, but it’s not like hearing a voice, it’s like seeing a light, but not revelation as the religious claim, it’s the light of understanding and it’s available to anyone. Anyone can know Tathagatagarbha, which knowledge is the truth of reality, but it is very difficult and demands that one listen to the truth with their reason, not their feelings and not their desires, and without reservation. You cannot say, “Tath, I want to know the truth so long as I like it,” or, “so long as it doesn’t conflict with other beliefs I have,” or “so long as I can keep doing anything I like,” or “so long as it doesn’t make me feel guilty.” Hearing Tath, which is understanding the truth, must be unconditional.
Truth Versus Religion
No Religion Is About The True God.
Tathagatagarbha says, “I’ve given everyone their own mind and I expect them to use them to think for themselves.”
Every religion violates the one requirement Tath makes for knowing His truth, which of course would be knowing Tath himself, if He were a he. That requirement is for every individual to use the mind Tath endowed them with. Every religion abrogates that requirement and attempts to take its place, claiming to be the only means to knowledge of God, or the truth.
Tathagatagarbha says, “I deal only with individual human beings and each must find me on their own. They may learn some things about me from others, but they can only know me by using their own minds and reasoning to understand the truth. Those who truly seek to know reality, which is the meaning of my name, Tathagatagarbha, will discover the truth. All those who seek the short-cut of religion to that knowledge are condemned to eternal ignorance of the truth.
“You see, there really is eternal punishment. It is not like any of the hideous punishments invented by the religions, however; ignorance is much worse than any hell.”
Tath’s Law
Tathagatagarbha says, “No one can tell anyone else what is right for them, what they ought to do or how they ought to live. I’ve made them all different, and no one can know what is right for anyone else. Only I and the individual who discovers me can know what is right for that individual, and it won’t be what is right for anyone else.
“That does not mean they can do just anything they want. My laws are absolute. My laws are not rules to obey, they are the principles by which all reality exists and operates and cannot be defied or evaded.
“Everything is what it is, and has a specific nature. A chicken behaves like a chicken because it is a chicken. If it acted like a fish, if it tried to live under water, it would die.
“Do you know why chickens do not try to live like fish? They can’t. They live the way their nature requires them to live because their nature makes them live that way. It’s a gift. All creatures have it, except human beings. All other creatures will do what they must do to live and do not need to think about it, which is good, because they couldn’t think if they wanted to. To think, they would have to have minds, but only one creature can think, only one creature does not do what its nature requires unless it thinks, unless it uses its mind to discover what its nature is and what it must do to live successfully. That creature is you, and every other individual human being,” Tath told me.
“There’s another difference between men and chickens,” Tath says. “Chickens do what they must do to live, like eating the kind food they require, but human beings do not do what they must do to live, which is to use their minds to think. The reason is, the chicken cannot choose to do anything other than what it does; it must do what it does.
“Every human being must consciously choose what it does, because a human’s nature does not make it behave in any particular way. A human being must choose what it will do and how it will live and may choose to live in almost any way, but usually chooses the worst possible way, like chickens choosing to live under water. Just as a chicken cannot live under water, a human being cannot live without using its mind to learn and think and choose, but most human beings attempt to get away with learning and thinking as little as possible, like chickens trying to live on as little food as possible.
“It is a good thing, perhaps, that I am not like the Gods that men make up for their religions. The ability to think is a great advantage which should enable human beings to live better than chickens, but they use their ability to think to invent endless ways to ruin their lives, and, not content with that, they interfere in the lives of others to ruin theirs too. The ability to choose ought to be the most glorious faculty any creature could possibly have, but almost every choice humans make are wrong ones, and they cannot figure out why there is so much misery in their world, and do not understand it is what they think, choose, and do that is the cause of all the horrors and crimes and suffering and death.
“If I were like the made-up Gods, I would have lost all patience with such ungrateful, intentionally ignorant, willfully lazy, evil creatures and would long ago have eliminated the despicable race that squanders all that has been bestowed upon it. Though I am ruthless, and no one can violate my principles or evade my truth and get away with it, I am also very benevolent, and for those who only learn a little of my truth, and live by it, there is blessing, more blessing than any of them deserve.”
The Root of Sin
Tathagatagarbha says, “If I had feelings like human beings I would loath them, but I do not have feelings like humans, and even if I did, I would have no feeling about human beings because I do not notice them at all, or regard them in any way, though I know what they are.
“They are greedy. They used that word, ‘greedy,’ themselves, all the time, but have no idea what it means.
“Let Tath tell you about greed. Those who despise Tath, those who despise my truth, use that word to besmirch my saints who have lived according my laws and my truth. Those who love me, and my laws, use their minds to learn my truth, and labor to be all they can be and I have blessed them with the success and happiness I promise all those who live according to the truth.
“Greed is not the desire to have and be all one can by one’s own labor and effort. That desire is the greatest of virtues. Greed is the desire to have more than one has earned by their own effort, more than they merit by their own achievement. Greed is the desire to enjoy the advantages of virtue one does not possess. The greedy choose not to learn, think, and work, as the laws of reality, my laws, require, but they demand to have what they have not earned. They spend their lives seeking ways to circumvent my laws by which all of reality and their very natures are determined. To seek what one has not earned is true greed, the root of all human failure, and the source of all human evil.”
“Where do those who seek the unearned intend to get it? They must get it from those who produce whatever it is they seek and even claim to have a right to. They must get it from my saints who use the attributes I have given them to labor and produce everything that is desirable and good. It is a great evil and nothing escapes my just retribution.
Life
Tathagatagarbha says, “If I were like the Gods they invent, I would destroy them all. ‘Life is hard,’ they complain. Well it is, because life is worth living and everything worth having requires effort, and time, and energy, and the more a thing is worth the greater the price to achieve or acquire it.
“What do they think life is? It is given to them freely. Do they think they can keep it for free? If they want to live they must use all I’ve given them to sustain it. It’s the reason why they have minds to learn and think with. It’s the reason they have the power of choice which they must use to do anything. If they do not choose to do anything, they will do nothing, and they will die. All I’ve given them is their means to life, success, prosperity, and happiness.
“They must use their minds to learn all they possibly can, because they will need that knowledge to make the decisions required in their labor to produce what their lives require, but they all attempt to live by learning as little as they can possibly get away with. If they are to enjoy their lives they must sustain them, they must use all the faculties I have given them to their ultimate ability, because the nature I have given them precludes enjoying them any other way. It is their nature to work, to produce, and to achieve, and their nature will reward them with joy in their work, satisfaction in what their work produces, pride in their achievements, their integrity confirming that they are worthy of the life I have given them; but, that same nature will punish them with poverty if they fail to produce, and guilt if they fail to achieve, and despair if they fail to think and learn all they can. They call it ‘depression,’ a meaningless word made up by their magicians, (whom they call psychologists,) to cover the real nature of what they are suffering, the chosen disintegration of their own minds and the inescapable consciousness of the fact they are worthless nothings, without any value or merit. I, Tath, the ultimate and only reality, do not forgive them.
“Except for cats, all creatures labor all the time, and I reward that labor with life and make their lives joy. The proper name for that continuous joyous labor is living. Human beings try to live like cats, but I have endowed the felines with special abilities. I require them to sleep most of their lives so they will be ready for the extreme demands of action which will be required of them. Human beings have spoiled some of the smaller cats, and I have allowed those cats to use humans for their own success, though I expect and receive no gratitude from them. I have allowed that mode of existence for some cats, because they cannot choose otherwise. I do not allow human beings to live as lazy mooching cats, because they can and must choose otherwise, and if they do not, they will suffer and die. I demand justice.”
Minds
Tathagatagarbha says, “Oh. they use their minds, but they do not use them to learn the truth and think as well as they possibly can. They have all kinds of things in their minds, things that are not true, things that prevent them from thinking clearly or correctly, things that excite their desires and passions for that which will harm them, for pleasures they have not earned, disconnected from any purpose or reason, and things that cause them panic, confusion, and torment; yet they have no idea why their minds cause them so much suffering.
“It does not occur to them that their minds have natures even more demanding than the nature of their bodies. Just as their bodies require nourishment, their mind’s require knowledge. Just as they cannot put just anything into their stomachs, they cannot put just anything into their minds. They can put things that are not nourishing into their stomachs, even things that are poison, and they may not die, but will be sickened and suffer, and if they fail to eat the right things, and continue to poison themselves they will eventually die. The mind also has a certain amount of resilience and can bear a certain amount of intellectual poison, but if that’s all they feed their minds it will eventually cease to be the means to reason and knowledge, and will become a tyrant ruling them with irresistible desires they cannot control and feelings of fear for which they cannot account.
Instead of their minds being the means to the light of knowledge, of reason, self-esteem, life, joy and choice, their minds become their constant tormenters. It is the law of Tath.”
Tath’s Gifts Despised
Tathagatagarbha says, “I have given them the attributes that make pleasure, joy, happiness, and ecstasy possible for a reason. Pleasure is the reward for doing what is right, for discovering what a human being must do to live and doing it. Joy is the reward for achievement and the consciousness that all one enjoys has been earned and is deserved. Happiness is the state that reflects one’s awareness that every aspect of their nature, physical, mental, and moral, is whole, and without contradiction because it conforms to reality. Ecstasy is the reward for the greatest of human achievements, the consciousness of being the best one can be in all things, in character, in achievement, in love, and in life.
“They think they can defy their nature, defy the truth, defy my reality. It is their greed to have the unearned and undeserved that makes them believe they can have pleasure divorced from any meaning or purpose. They seek pleasure for it’s own sake, never asking if they deserve to enjoy such pleasure or if having what one is not worthy of might have consequences. It does have consequences, and they cannot escape their sense of guilt or the anguish which is the reward of meaningless and pointless pleasure. They do not understand why they feel there is no purpose to their lives; it’s because there is none.”
The Lie of Forgiveness
Tathagatagarbha says, “They have no use for truth and think they can evade it by inventing elaborate religions. I am the only God, my laws are absolute, my judgments are ruthless, my retribution final. There is no forgiveness, and every violation of my truth is punished, and there is no escape from my justice.”
“Every religion is an attempt to evade my truth, an attempt to escape from the chronic sense of guilt there evasions cannot hide. Most of the religions promise forgiveness, the ultimate evasion. No one can violate my absolute law and escape the consequences, no one can do wrong and get away with it.
“The idea of forgiveness promoted by most religions is the vilest of evils. There is no forgiveness for violating or evading the truth. It does not matter what any religion says, or what any human being claims to forgive, I never forgive. Of course I cannot forgive, but if I could, I would not, because no matter how evil an act is, to forgive it, to pretend that it can be ignored or forgotten, that somehow evil can be canceled or ‘covered up,’ is the most deceitful of all lies, because it deceives people into believing they can do wrong without consequence. No wrong escapes the judgment of Tath.”
Their Vanity
Tathagatagarbha says, “I laugh at their silly made up religions, all their elaborate rituals, their empty ceremonies, their songs, and pompous rigamaroles. It is absurd nonsense, designed to reinforce their self-induced ignorance, which they call faith. Their faith is blindness which makes it impossible for them to see how ludicrous all their formulas, their prayers, their silly costumes and solemn repetitious murmurings are.
“All their gods are like themselves, petty, moody, neurotic, thin-skinned, and vindictive. Their gods demand veneration and worship, as if a god would need to be honored by such worthless creatures. Their Gods fly into rages like children at the first hint of contempt. Insult one of their pitiful gods, and you’ll be tormented forever, because all their gods are like themselves, spiteful, vindictive, and so insecure they require the constant praise of others, because within themselves, they are nothing. Well… they are nothing!
“Who would want to be noticed by such monstrous beings as the gods they have invented, much less loved by them. It makes them happy, they say, to know their God loves them. If it were true that any kind of God could love such creatures, it would make that God a fiend, worse even then the devils they believe in.”
Tathagatagarbha says, “I neither love or hate nor consider what the living do. I richly reward those who live according to my laws, according my nature, the nature of reality. I fill those who despise my laws and seek to evade the requirements of reality with failure, disappointment, ignorance, and death.
“If I loved, it would be those worthy of that love, those who have earned and deserved it as all other things must be earned and deserved. I could never hate because those I might hate are not worth even that much interest. The most I could do toward those who defy the truth and evade reality would be to hold them in utter contempt as the worthless dregs of life they are.
“Their wise ones, their important ones, their powerful ones, though only in their own eyes, are the source of all the evil in the world. They teach the lies that corrupt human minds, they oppress those whom they’ve deceived into believing they are important, they teach them to go to war, to kill and maim others, to destroy their property, to destroy all that is of real value which my saints have produced. They teach them that killing, shedding blood, and destroying the lives of the innocent is noble and virtuous. No god but a demon could love such vile creatures.”
Life and Death
Tathagatagarbha says, “I gave them life and they squander it, but are not satisfied with the life I have given them. They want to live forever. They have no idea how to use the life they have, but they expect another one that will never end. They are insane, and all too lazy or obtuse to work so they can really enjoy the lives I have given them.
“They are terrified of death. What do they think happens after death? Everything happens just as it always has. Those who have died are simply not part of it any longer just as those who are not born, but will be, are not part of it yet. Those who have died and those not yet born, do not exist. All purpose and meaning is for the living. There really is no such thing as ‘the dead.’ That which isn’t, isn’t. Those who have died are just as non-existent as those who have not yet been born. Are they afraid of what was before they were born? When they are dead it will be exactly as it was before they were born. Why should they be afraid of it?
“They are terrified of eternal punishment. There is eternal punishment, but it is not what their superstitious religions teach. Death is inevitable, but it’s not a thing. Everyone dies, but that is only because every one is born, and most have fairly long lives, longer than most deserve. But some die as a consequence of their own choices and actions, then death is a punishment, and it is eternal, though they will never know it, because they have ceased to be.
“That’s what they’re really afraid of. They know they have wasted their lives, that they have accomplished nothing, have not made anything of themselves, that they have made a ruin of everything, and when they die, they will have thrown away their one opportunity to truly live. That’s why they must have religions that promise them another life as some kind of gift they do not have to earn, or at least only have to perform some meaningless rituals and recite some meaningless incantations to be sure of.
“My saints never worry about death, because they are too busy living, learning all they are able to learn, thinking about how to be and achieve all they possibly can, and enjoying their lives to the fullest, living as my laws and their nature require. To die without regret is to have earned the reward of the highest possible joy, the knowledge that one’s life has been all it could possibly be and it was worth living, and that, by Tath, one is thankful to have had the opportunity to have lived that exquisite adventure that could only have been theirs, an ecstasy compared to which the heavens and paradises of the religions are crude and effete frauds.”
Wasting Life
Tathagatagarbha says, “They spoil everything in their refusal to learn what reality is and what I have made them. I have given them minds and their whole being fits what they are. They are the only creatures with minds but they are infatuated only with what they share with creatures without minds: their physical bodies and their appetites. All creatures have physical abilities, almost all of them superior to a human being’s, because that is all the animals are and all they need. All creatures eat, perform physical feats, and procreate. They are mundane things that do not require minds to perform. Yet those are the things the haters of my truth are infatuated with.
“They are fascinated with those who accomplish mindless physical feats, spectacles of muscle in which almost any other creature is superior, yet they worship them as heroes. Their minds and emotions are taken over by these spectacles of mindless physical achievement, because it takes no mental effort at all to be excited by physical contests, and less to participate in them. They venerate their athletes as something important, but they will forget them when I make them hungry and poor and sick, because their heroes of muscle can provide them nothing of value.
“They call these things pastimes, diversions, or entertainment. They embrace them as substitutes for actually living, wasting their time, and their resources on them, then wonder why their lives seem so short and meaningless, which is the way life seems when you pass the time of it on that which has no meaning or value.
“They do not know what their life is. They think their life is what they experience. A tree has experience. Even a rock has experience. Life is what one does, not what happens to them. Only that which is experienced as the result of what one chooses and does himself is worth experiencing or of any value to one’s life or any real part of it.
“Instead of living they watch others living who are not really living either, but pretending to live. They call it acting. They call the pretend lives performances. Like everything else in their lives it is fake, but because they have no lives, they embrace these substitutes and wonder why nothing in their life and world seems real.
“They will die without ever knowing. It is the judgment of Tath.
A Little Truth
Tathagatagarbha says, “The scientists use their minds to discover truths about the physical world and obedience to those truths brings the blessing I bestow on all obedience to the truth. But the scientists are ignorant too. They defy my laws by claiming there truth is all the truth there is, that their tiny part of reality is all of reality. They even try to make their sliver of reality, the physical world they study, all there is, and do not recognize they would not be able to study anything if there was only the physical, because they would not be alive—the merely physical is not alive. They would not be conscious of the world they study—because the physical world they study is not conscious. If the physical was all there is, they would not have minds with which to learn, to think, and choose to do anything, much less study the physical world.
“Oh they’re so smart, these scientists, and professors, and doctors. ‘The physical is all their is,’ they say. ‘There is nothing supernatural. There is no God.’
“See what they do? No, of course you don’t. I have to explain everything. First they say the physical is all there is. They never explain how they know that. They just assume it, because they cannot think very far or very much. They say, ‘The physical is all that we can be directly conscious of, all that we see and hear and smell and taste and feel, and therefore all that we can know. If there is something that we cannot see or hear or smell or taste or feel, there is no way we could know about it even if it did exist.’
“They deceive themselves. They play semantic games. ‘If the physical is all there is then every thing there is must be physical, which means all of nature must be physical. Then anything that is not physical cannot be natural,’ they say, ‘it would be supernatural.’
“They say a lot more than that, but have already lost the thread. They have assumed something without ever acknowledging it, without actually being aware of it. If the physical is what they see, then they assume they can see, that seeing is real. But they cannot see their seeing and certainly cannot see anyone else’s seeing. No one can see anyone’s seeing, and they certainly cannot hear or smell or taste or feel it. The only way anyone knows there is such a phenomenon as seeing is because they do it, they see. If seeing were a physical thing they would be able to be aware of it by means of at least one of the senses, just as they are all other physical things. It just does not occur to them they cannot be aware of seeing by means of any of the senses because seeing is not a physical attribute or phenomenon.
“Seeing is perfectly natural. An attribute of the nature itself, because I, Tath, have made it that way. It just doesn’t happen to be a physical attribute.
“Sure they can study the physical aspects of an organism associated with seeing, the eyes, the optic nerves, the visual cortex and other sections of the brain, and all the related physical activity. What they cannot study, not by any physical means at least, is the seeing itself, because no physical action is seeing. Seeing is a phenomenon of consciousness, which also is not physical.
“Oh they’re so smart. ‘Consciousness is a phenomenon of the brain. The behavior of the brain gives rise to consciousness,’ they pontificate. They make these things up, then make up words to identify their invented lies. They call things like life and consciousness ‘emergent qualities’ as though organisms excreted life like a gland, or gave off consciousness like a pheromone. If life and consciousness are simply new physical attributes ‘emerging’ from the complex physical structure of organisms, the scientists would be able to describe them in physical terms. One philosopher unwittingly tried to do that. ‘Life is a self-generating self-sustaining process.’ Of course organisms are self-sustaining, and what they sustain is their own existence as organisms, and what makes it possible for organisms to do that is the attribute only organisms have, and no inanimate physical entities have, the attribute life.
“It is not life that is self-generating and self-sustaining, it is organisms that are self-generating and self-sustaining. Life is the attribute that makes that process performed by organisms possible. Describing what organisms do is not the explanation of what makes it possible for them to do it. No merely physical thing can do it, not without the attribute life.
“I have given them the physical world, and physical bodies, and I have given them life without which their physical bodies would be just dead objects. I have given them the physical world, and perception by which they are conscious of the physical world, but the world and their consciousness of it are two different things.
“Everything is natural, the physical is natural, life is natural, and consciousness is natural, even the human mind is natural, but only the physical can be directly perceived, and all the attributes of nature transcend the physical and cannot be understood or explained as physical. I ought to know,” says Tath.
“How do they explain why living things only come from living things or why it is not possible to arrange merely physical things in any complex arrangement to produce something living? It is impossible because there is no life in the merely physical. Life is an attribute, a perfectly natural attribute, which is over and above all the attributes of the mere physical which, where it exists, transforms the mere physical into living organisms.
“But life itself has no physical attributes. It cannot be described in any physical terms or tested for by any physical means. All that can be described is the observable aspects of an organism’s behavior, the life that makes that behavior possible cannot be described in physical terms because it cannot be directly observed. Life has no color, no weight, no size, no shape, no temperature, or any other physical property.
“Science is good, but science knows only the physical, only a part, and a very basic part, of reality. Scientists who think the physical is everything and science the only means to truth despise the truth. Tath will bless the truth of science, but Tath condemns those who confound reality with the least important aspect of it.”
Hubris
Tathagatagarbha says, “When they say, ‘there is nothing supernatural,’ they are right, but when they say, ‘there is no God,’ they are saying what they do not know. Oh, there is no God such as those men make up for their horrid religions, but there is a God of truth and reality. I, Tathagatagarbha, am that God of truth.
“They call themselves atheists, as if that were really a thing. Who identifies themselves by what they don’t believe? I’m sure they don’t believe in the tooth fairy or Ah Puch, but they don’t call themselves athoothfairians or aAhPuchiests.
“What do they care what other people believe in? At least the theists believe in something. Those who call themselves atheists don’t believe in anything.
“One of them, a long time ago said it. ‘God is dead, nothing is forbidden.’ That’s what they think. There is no God, so there is no right or wrong. Isn’t that a confession? Do you know what it means? It means those fools, those self-described atheists, are admitting they believe the theists are right; that right and wrong must be dictated by some notion of a dictatorial God. Since they correctly dismiss all the fictional Gods of religion, they assume there are no moral laws.
“The idiots never realize moral laws are as absolute and universal as any physical laws. The universe is what it is, and the principles of the physical universe cannot be evaded or defied. Human beings are what they are and their nature cannot be evaded or defied. That is the basis of moral law, not the dictates of some supernatural non-existent being.
“The truth is, ‘there is no God,, therefore nothing is permitted, and nothing is forgiven.’ One either discovers they have a specific nature that requires them to earn their right to life and all that life requires, or they do not discover it, because they refuse to use the mind Tath has given them to think and learn all they can and suffer the consequences and die.
“The religious at least know there are consequences of their choices and that they are responsible for them. They are wrong about forgiveness and they are wrong about the purpose of life, but at least they believe that life has a purpose. The life of so-called atheists has no purpose, no objective, nothing to live for or aspire to. Some embrace some insipid view of mankind, some vague notion of “humanity,” as the basis of values, the very mankind I would destroy if I were one of their Gods. In rejecting the mistakes of the theists, the atheists embrace an even worse lie and worship the false gods of the merely physical, social, and political. Tath does not allow any lies to succeed or those who embrace them to escape judgment.
Golden Rule
Tath does not hold anyone responsible for what others believe or choose or do. He holds every individual responsible for what they themselves believe, choose, and do.
Tathagatagarbha says, “It will take all the time, strength, and ability I have endowed you with to be what Tath expects you to be, what reality demands you be, and what your nature requires you to be. Any time, strength, or ability you spend interfering in the life of any other human being is a waste of your own life’s resources which will limit or eliminate your success as a human being, as well as the success of the individual or individuals you interfere with. I will not hold you guiltless.”
The golden rule is do nothing unto others: or in other words, mind your own business.
Political Evasions
Tathagatagarbha says, “Their governments are all a violation of Tath’s law. No one may interfere in the life of another.”
“What are their governments but an attempt to evade my truth and circumvent my laws. They are attempts to be God, promising all the things the greedy desire that Tath will not give them, that Tath requires them to earn, produce, and acquire by their own effort.
“Do you know the absurd things they say? They say their God has endowed them with rights. Well Tath has endowed them with ears for hearing and eyes for seeing and minds for learning, and thinking and choosing, but Tath endows no one with rights. No one has a claim on anything in this world except that which one produces or earns. No one has a ‘right’ to anything.
“They know it too, but they lie about it. Notice, they do not need a government to make sure they get the ears I endowed them with. They don’t need a government to make sure they get the eyes I endowed them with. They don’t need a government to make sure they get the minds I endowed them with. But they need a government, they say, to make sure people get the ‘rights’ I supposedly endowed them with.
“These governments they create to provide themselves what Tath refuses to give them are nothing but organized theft and oppression, the greatest violators of Tath’s laws; they are organized interference in others lives.
“There are no guarantees in reality, and these creators of Gods and governments are all in defiance of my reality, promising safety and security they cannot deliver. They are arch deceivers and neither they or those who support them shall escape the retribution due their deceit.”
The Blessings of Tath
Tathagatagarbha says, “They suffer because they have chosen to suffer. They have chosen to despise all I have bestowed on them and made possible to them. They despise the minds I have given them to understand the world with, to learn and think with, to create with, and to achieve all that they possibly can with, and if they would use their minds as I have determined they must, their lives would be full, and rich, and rewarding beyond their dreams.
“They are all different but I have given to every individual the very abilities that enable them to be completely fulfilled as a human being. Everyone’s abilities are different, and everyone’ desires and aspirations are different, but everyone’s abilities are commensurate with all their other attributes so they can be all they can be.
“That is all I require of them, to be all they can be. I have made them to enjoy their work, their achievements, their virtues, but that requires their best in all things. If they seek shortcuts, if they attempt to evade the requirements of their natures and of the world I have made, they will fail as human beings, and will suffer the consequences.
“I have made every good thing possible to them, and it is all theirs if they are willing to choose and earn it. My promise too all is; Come, learn the truth and live by it and you shall have all the blessings of Tathagatagarbha.”
