Gaddafi's Murder
“The world is a much better place now Gaddafi is dead.”
This is, perhaps, the most common sentiment heard and seen expressed since the death of Muammar Gaddafi, a sentiment born of spite and ignorance. There was a time when Americans would never celebrate the death and suffering of others, no matter how deserving they thought the sufferers were, but those were days of civility and decency, days when people did not believe just any lies their government told them.
I’ve known from the beginning what was happening in Libya was wrong. Please see my article, “Libya.” I now know it is wrong in more ways than I could have imagined.
The very first thing I published about the Libyan fiasco was a Regi Says article, “It’s All About Style,” based on an article absurdly titled, “Lose in Libya, lose the Middle East.”
It is this kind of ignorance that is behind most Middle East propaganda. Perhaps these idiots really do not know Libya is not a Middle Eastern Country. Libya is a North African country, more closely allied with other African countries than any in the Middle East.
He Said He’d Never Leave
When asked if he would leave Libya, Gaddafi laughed—and he never did leave. He stayed, and he was murdered.
First news of is death was confused and contradictory. He was hit by a bullet in the head, but no one knew which “side” had fired the shot. Then the grisly pictures started coming out, and videos of a beaten Gaddafi still alive. Finally, an autopsy revealed he was simply murdered by a shot to the head.
How Much Better Is The World?
Gaddafi is certainly dead, so just how much better is the world going to be?
Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, head of Libya’s Transitional National Council, (who was also Gaddafi’s former Justice Minister) says Libya, “will be governed under Islamic law and that laws which contradict Islam will be abolished.” Some might think that is an improvement in the world, but it is doubtful it will be an improvement for Libyan women.
“What can the Libyan people look forward to? In Egypt, a fellow who said something about Islam on Facebook got sentenced to three years of hard labor. Egypt, lest we forget, is a moderate Muslim state. How can you tell Egypt is a moderate Muslim state? He didn’t get the death penalty, the way he would have in Pakistan.”
The Atrocities
As I mentioned at the beginning of my article, “Libya,” the propaganda promoting the coming invasion of Libya included this kind of rhetoric by Hillary Clinton: “The world will not ‘sit idly by,’ amid fears that Gadhafi will commit ‘unspeakable atrocities’ against his people.”
Who is Hillary Clinton referring to as “Gaddafi’s People?” Gaddafi was fighting a war against Al-Qaeda led rebels attempting to overthrow Libya’s government. “Gaddafi’s People,” were loyal to him to the very end. “His people,”mourn his death. To them he is a martyr.
“The colonel ‘spilled his blood as a martyr to rekindle the fire of revolution all over the world,’ said Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, the militia leader. ‘The people of the world will rise up against this.’”
Oh, there were atrocities, alright, but the most horrific were committed by the “rebels” that Clinton and her ilk are supporting.
“Documented atrocities included lynchings, a summary execution of a group of up to 22 prisoners, and–in perhaps the most harrowing video clip distributed online–a public beheading.
“In the video, the beheading victim can be seen suspended upside down in front of a burnt-out building. A crowd of hundreds is gathered around to watch; many of the spectators are filming the proceedings on mobile phones.
“As one of the rebels begins sawing at the already blood-soaked man’s neck with a long knife, cries of ‘Allahu Akbar!’ ring out. Like countless black African migrants and dark-skinned Libyans, the beheaded man appears to have been accused by the rebels of being a pro-Gaddafi ‘mercenary.’ The Dutch public broadcasting service NOS reported that some in the crowd shouted ‘He looks like he’s [black] African!’
”(The Benghazi beheading video can be viewed here.Viewer discretion is strongly advised.)
“…
“Traditional American media have ignored the evidence of atrocities committed by the Libyan rebels. But on April 20 Pajamas Media published a discussion of rebel atrocity videos with links to several examples, including the Benghazi beheading video.
“Two days later Arizona senator John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, made a surprise visit to Benghazi in order to publicly call for stepped-up American support of the rebellion. McCain spoke glowingly of the rebels and their cause, even saying of the Libyan rebels: ‘They are my heroes.’”
These are the kind of heroes American politicians celebrate these days?
Heroes to the end, responsible for, “the bodies of 53 people, believed to be Gadhafi supporters, … found in an abandoned Sirte hotel that was under the control of anti-Gadhafi fighters.
”‘Some had their hands bound behind their backs when they were shot,’ said Peter Bouckaert, the group’s emergencies director.
“Based on their condition, Human Rights Watch investigators determined these people … were likely killed between October 14 and 19.”
American Revenge
In the United States, and most Western countries, the murder to Gaddafi is celebrated by many as a kind of justice (revenge) for his evil ways–his support of terrorism, the deaths of American servicemen in the Berlin disco bombing, and the Lockerbie bombing.
The world’s “knowledge” of Gaddafi’s involvement in these things comes from the same source that assured the world, Saddam had weapons of mass destruction–the government and the MSM.
It is far from certain that these accusations against Gadafi are true, however; but so long as the world is convinced that evil can be canceled by more evil, and for any reason can find pleasure in another human being’s suffering and death, do not expect anyone to do any research on that score.
“Re. the Berlin disco bombing, I think most Americans don’t realize that the bomber was in fact German. She was tried and convicted. She had been married to a Palestinian guy who is alleged to have had contacts with Libyan intelligence–though she was no longer even married to him at the time that she planted the bomb.
“Re Lockerbie, the evidence for Megrahi’s–and by extension, Libyan–involvement is extremely circumstantial. One of the UN’s own official observers of the Scottish trial, Hans Köchler, has denounced the proceedings as a miscarriage of justice. (See here for related documents.) There is again a German connection–the suitcase containing the bomb was loaded onto a flight originating in Frankfurt–and it even appears that German authorities quashed leads that pointed elsewhere: namely, to Palestinian terrorists. See here, for instance. If one connects all the dots, it certainly seems plausible that Libya and Qaddafi were used as scapegoats and that ‘Uncle Sucker,’ as you say, fell for it.”
