Free Anywhere

The independent individualist does not belong to anyone or anything; the independent individualist belongs only to himself. Though he may live in a country, even the country he was born in, he does not belong to the country. If there is any belonging, the country belongs to him.

So long as an individual is shackled by any of those political concepts which are designed to encourage one’s self-imposed slavery to the state, like, “patriotism,” or “allegiance to the state” (or flag), or one’s “duty to their country,” they will never be completely free. One may certainly love a country so long as that means they love the land, the people, and the culture associated with that country, and not the government or political system. But, even if one loves the country they are in, when the political system becomes oppressive enough to limit their freedom, they must make a choice, their country or freedom. For the independent individualist there is only one choice, because to not be free is to not live.

Many, perhaps most, individuals are never going to find freedom in their own country, especially in the United States, which is quickly becoming one of the most oppressive countries in the world. For many Americans, freedom is going to mean living someplace other then the USA.

International Living

Moving to a new country is not easy, but freedom is not easy. Nevertheless, thousands of people leave the USA every day, many to find the freedom they will never have in the US.

The best resource I know for information about making the decision and taking action to find freedom in another land is International Living. There is both a print and online version of the magazine, but their online resources are almost unlimited.

IL (International Living) is a highly professional organization, which, unlike many other online services, is both accessible and responsive. With regard to the subject of living, traveling, or living anywhere in the world, they are an endless resource of useful and practical information and tools.

Because I regard IL as an important resource for any freedom seeking individual, I have made arrangements to publish some IL material, and beginning today, a new International Living article will be published every day which I know will be interesting, informative, and inspiring. The new link on these Freedom Pages is the blue “International Living” link, immediately below the “Daily Freedom” link.

International Living articles will not be archived. If you miss one, you’ve missed it. [If you desperately need a past article, we can probably recover it for you.] It would be better not to miss any.
